IIFYM Recipe-Dump and Bake Skinny Chicken Parmesan Casserole

Who doesn’t love comfort foods? This recipe is as easy as it comes with a dump and bake style. Simply throw everything together in one dish and pop it in the oven. What you get is a hearty pasta dish that will certainly satisfy any Italian cravings you may have. Enjoy!

Ingredients

  • 13.25 oz package of uncooked pasta (Rotini or Penne will work)
  • 24 oz jar of Marinara Sauce
  • 3 cups of water
  • 1.85 lbs of raw chicken breast (thinly sliced into chicken tenders form)
  • 1.5 cups of reduced fat shredded mozzarella
  • .5 cups of grated Parmesan cheese
  • .5 cups of Italian seasoned breadcrumbs

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 425 F.
  2. Spray a 9×13 inch pan with cooking spray
  3. Add pasta, marinara sauce, and water to the dish and stir
  4. Place the chicken breast in a single layer on top and then cover tightly with aluminum foil
  5. Bake the dish for 30 minutes
  6. Uncover and stir
  7. Spread the mozzarella over the top and then sprinkle the breadcrumbs and Parmesan cheese on top as well
  8. Bake for an additional 5-10 minutes or until cheese is melted with a golden brown tint
