IIFYM Recipe- Protein Rice Crispy Treats

Are you looking for a new, tasty way to get your protein in? These delicious protein rice crispy treats are the perfect post-workout protein snack for you to grab and go. Embrace one of your favorite childhood recipes that everyone loves and is extremely easy to make.


  • 6 cups rice crispy cereal (you can use the regular or the chocolate flavor)
  • 6 cups mini marshmallows
  • 7 TBSP Earth Balance butter spread
  • 4 oz unsweetened applesauce
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 150 grams of unflavored whey isolate protein powder (I used Isopure)


  1. Spray a 9×13 glass baking dish with cooking spray
  2. In a large, non stick pot, melt the butter and marshmallows on low heat, stirring constantly
  3. When butter and marshmallows are melted, remove pot from the heat and stir in vanilla and applesauce
  4. Slowly pour in the protein powder and mix together while the marshmallows are still warm
  5. Stir in the rice crispy cereal and then spread into your glass baking dish
  6. Allow bars to cool, cut, and indulge!
